2025 Rep & Select Tryouts
Rep tryouts are open to all players that reside within the Mansfield Minor Baseball boundary area. For players residing outside the boundary, please review the YSBA Release Policy. Select teams must have at least 50% of the players on the roster living within the Association's boundaries.
Mandatory Release for non YSBA players for Rep tryouts
As per the YSBA Release policy :
- Player that resides outside of the YSBA Boundaries must obtain a release from there Local association & the Affiliate association prior to attending tryout
This release MUST be presented to the coach or attending MMBA executive at the first tryout. Players from outside of the YSBA Boundaries without a release will NOT be allowed to tryout.
All players must register online before attending a tryout.
The $10.00 tryout fee can be paid online by e-transfer to [email protected]. Please include your player's name and team trying our for in the message section so payment can easily be applied. One fee covers all tryouts for that player and is due before the first tryout.
All players and parents must agree to the required waiver, declaration, and acknowledgements to participate. Full details are available when you register.

Rep\Select team head coaches will be announced on the MMBA Website and tryouts will begin after Labour Day (please check the MMBA website (link above) for tryout dates).
Many players will have competed in OBA Championships on Labour Day weekend, and for proper arm care athletes need an appropriate period of rest before tryouts. This will also allow families to focus on back-to-school activities the first week back.
The number of teams offered is primarily based on the willingness of parent volunteers willing to coach a Rep or Select team. This year Mansfield Minor Baseball is hoping to field 3 Rep teams at the 13U A, 15U AA, and 18U A levels, and one Select team at the 11U level.
2025 Rep & Select Tryout Policy:

3 Rep tryouts and 2-3 Select tryouts are usually scheduled for each team. Additional tryouts or an exhibition game may be added, if needed to finalize team selection.

Players should make every effort to attend all tryout dates. If circumstances do not allow for this, please communicate directly with the head coaches.

Players are guaranteed 2 tryouts if attending from the first tryout date. Coaches may release players after the 2nd scheduled tryout. If the player attends tryouts after the first tryout date, they may be cut after one tryout

Scrimmages or exhibition games are permitted at the 3rd tryout to assist Rep\Select coaches with final team selection.

In the event of a tryout cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the cancellation information will be posted on the Mansfield Minor Baseball website.
Depending on how many players are trying out in a division, the first 2 tryout sessions may be divided or shorter in duration than posted. A coach will email registered players 1-2 days before the first tryout to confirm times and communicate any changes. Please ensure contact email addresses are up to date when you register online.
To assist with player selection, coaches may work with an independent evaluator that does not have a player trying out in that division. A player that is not selected to a Rep team will be eligible to try out for Select teams, if offered. Head coaches and additional tryout dates for additional teams will be posted when available. In most age groups, all tryouts will be completed before the end of September.
Players that only wish to play Select are permitted to only attend Select tryouts, but Select teams are not guaranteed at every age group.
